For the last decade, advanced analytical methods of human bones have been a common practice in the archaeological sciences. However, analyses of highly depleted human remains have only recently been developed by a handful of researchers specializing in this field. The collaborating bodies that participate in the research program of TEFRA have the infrastructure to support the research with international methodological protocols and the application of analytical methods in burned human remains.
