Workshop (Re)Assembly – Creating lifeway narratives from fragmented (bio)archaeological records
TEFRA Research Project was present in the Workshop (Re-)Assembly – Creating lifeway narratives from fragmented (bio)archaeological records, which was held as part of the ERC-funded project “The Fall of 1200 BC: The role of migration and conflict in social crises at the end of the Bronze Age in South-eastern Europe” by the University College Dublin.
Our Principal Investigator, Dr. Sevi Triantaphyllou, in her talk ‘Decoding cremated remains in the prehistoric Aegean: the TEFRA project’, presented for the first time in public the objectives and the research questions of our project, while Yannis Chatzikonstantinou in his talk ‘Recording burnt human remains from commingled burials through macroscopic and analytical methods’ introduced the scientific protocol that will be used in the study of the bone assemblages during our project. The presentations were accompanied by a fruitful discussion, shedding light on the multiproxy approaches necessary for studying fragmented human remains.
